Diamer (Neeelum TV) — The devastating floods in Diamer, Gilgit-Baltistan have left destruction and panic in their wake. According to reports, Khyber TV anchor Shabana Liaqat has gone missing along with her husband, Liaqat Ali, and their four children.
Government spokesperson Faizullah Firaq confirmed that the family went missing during the floods, adding that a purse belonging to Shabana Liaqat was recovered near Babusar Top by a local volunteer. The purse contained her National Identity Card.
A large-scale search operation is underway involving police, district administration, the Disaster Management Authority, Pakistan Army, and GB Scouts. Volunteers are using drones and sniffer dogs to locate the missing family.


Eyewitnesses claim that 10 to 15 tourists were swept away by flash floods on the Babusar highway.
According to Khyber TV, Shabana Liaqat had traveled to Gilgit-Baltistan with her husband and children on July 1 for a vacation. On their return journey from Skardu, their phones went offline near Babusar Top, and since then, there has been no contact or trace of their phones.
Rescue authorities say the search is ongoing, and more updates are expected soon.
