Azad Kashmir Police Strike 2025: Officers Demand Equal Benefits and Allowances
Neelum TV | Muzaffarabad – July 21, 2025
A province-wide Azad Kashmir police strike has disrupted law and order services as officers from Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Mirpur, and Jhelum Valley protest for equal treatment, enhanced allowances, and retirement benefits.
This AJK police protest marks a significant moment in the region’s law enforcement history. For the first time, officers in Rawalakot’s Poonch Division launched an organized protest demanding parity in allowances and compensation with other government employees.

In Jhelum Valley, police called for increased monthly allowances, while in Muzaffarabad, officers staged a large demonstration outside the District Old Secretariat. Despite intervention efforts from SSP Muzaffarabad, the police rejected negotiations, insisting their demands be fulfilled.
The Mirpur police protest saw officers presenting a 10-point Charter of Demands to SP Raja Amir Nawabi. Key demands include:
Inclusion of martyrs post-2022 in financial compensation
Increasing retired personnel’s medical allowance to match military levels
Access to private healthcare for injured officers
Adjustment of pensions and allowances based on 2025 government salary scales
Protesters have warned that if the demands are not accepted, the AJK police movement will be further expanded.
